Burnstown Building Centre is the retail supply side of the business, serving builders, contractors, DIYers, and homeowners across the Ottawa Valley. We stock all the building materials you need, including lumber, drywall, insulation, roofing, siding, windows, and doors. We also carry a wide array of interior finishes, including kitchen and bathroom products, moulding, paint, and hardware.

As part of the Castle Building Centres group, Burnstown Castle combines the service of a local, independently owned business with the strength of a larger buying network. Wood Works of Renfrew (later known as Renfrew Building Centre), came to life back in 1936 when Frederick Lockwood and two other investors purchased a sash, door, and custom millwork manufacturer. Over seven decades, it was passed down through generations, and the Lockwood family ran it successfully as Lockwood Building Centre, guiding it through many transitions, including expanding into more building materials and hardware over the years and joining the trusted Castle Building Centres Group in 2014.
In the summer of 2016, Wood Works of Renfrew was purchased by Bruce Gannon and Laurie Wichers-Schreur, who remained focused on preserving the customer-service oriented values of the business, as well as its family-run atmosphere.
In 2018, Bruce and Laurie expanded the organization once again with the purchase of Burnstown Building Supply (now Burnstown Building Centre) formerly operated by the McLeod family. This completely renovated location allowed the business to increase its product offering and level of service across the Ottawa Valley. You can even watch a YouTube series on our channel that shows the whole process we went through to open the store.
Following the closure of the Renfrew Building Centre at 1054 Gillan Road in February 2026, RB Castle continues to serve the Ottawa Valley through Burnstown Castle and the Design Centre in Renfrew. The Design Centre remains an important part of the business and continues to support customers with design consultations, finish selections, project planning, and Monarch Homes & Design services.
